Something under my front porch

I think I have some critters under my front porch...

They might be skunks or raccoons. More likely skunks. I don't mind either too much - so I'm not crazy about removing them... but it might make my concrete porch crumble so I'm going to have to look at getting the animal family out and sealing it up.

But then where will they go?

hmmm... I'm not sure how the critters would make the concrete crumble, I've always understood it to be the freeze/thaw of our seasonally distorted weather than is the undoing of concrete. I can't think of any reason to evict them except for the possibility that should they be skunks, will they really cause your home to reek, or would there be an occasion that you would unknowingly startle one and it would spray you?

I guess it could be freeze thaw that started it for sure!

I'm not worried about the smell if a smell is produced. I doubt I'd be sprayed - since there are sooo many cats in the neighborhood - that a skunk family might prefer not to live there.

My clue is that I filled the hole with small rocks. Then I found those small rocks spread across my lawn in a pattern that fanned away from the hole.

I'd love to fill it - but I always imagine a cute little skunk baby and family that would be trapped there!!

Any ideas?

No, or at least, I don't have any ideas with respect to your situation. I have plenty of ideas otherwise.
