Here's a nice story to remind us that there are nice people who stop and take a moment of time to help others, including ducklings!

Sadly, this was in the oddities section of the cbc.ca news site. I guess I'd be happier if the oddity was global climate change, war, poverty, famine, violence and the regular news was weather, compassion, science, joy, and fun!

What other things would you rather see in mainstream news?

I'd like to see peak oil in mainstream news presented in a factual non-panic way with good discussion of what is to be done about it.

Me too - that's a great point.

I was thinking of 'useful' news. News that informs about the general things we deal with every day. Less complaining about violence, more information on conflict management, on what social services are available for troubled teens or the mentally ill. More information on how to cope with difficult situations!

I'm glad we have the internet so we can more or less gather our own news!

You are chock full of good information. Sort of.
